I grew up in the kitchen. My mother, grandmother, grandfather all cooked and baked. My grandfather even cooked for Frank Sinatra, Jackie Gleason, and the June Taylor Dancers! My mother was an exceptional baker. She was very inspirational to me. I still have her recipes from when I was young. I even have a Good Housekeeping cookbook that she gave me, which was copyrighted in 1942.
Growing up in a third-generation Italian home was a major influence on me. I was always in the kitchen. Since retiring 3 years ago, I have been able to develop skills by taking online classes like Rosalind Miller's Cake Lab. She bakes for Harrod's Department Store and has a successful bakery in the United Kingdom. I have 3 certificates of completion from this school. I have also been baking cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, and various chocolate confections for baby showers, birthday parties, and Holiday parties.
I use high-quality ingredients. I am particular about what I use. I believe it makes a world of difference in the finished product.
